FACEIT Season 8 started April 22 with a universal soft reset. Every player plays 10 placement matches before their new ELO and level are locked in. The early matches in the sequence matter the most. Losing them tanks your calibration in a way that takes dozens of regular matches to fix afterward. Winning them puts you at a starting ELO that makes every future win worth more because you are facing stronger opponents from day one.
