Prototype Augments are the strongest perks you can get, offering effects like double bullet damage, random status effects on hit, or skill cooldown reduction. However, an Augment starts weak and only becomes powerful by using the item in combat for hours. To even get an Augment, you need an item at Level 40 and Expertise Level 30, plus a rare Prototype Core to upgrade it at the Proto Lab.
