Slayer Boneshatter Build Boost: Melee That Actually Survives Endgame
Boneshatter stacks Trauma on every hit which ramps your physical damage higher the longer you stay in combat. The tradeoff is that Trauma also damages you with every swing, so the build only works when your sustain outpaces the self-damage. The Slayer ascendancy handles that through Brutal Fervour's life overleech and Endless Hunger's instant leech start. On the offensive side Bane of Legends culls rares and uniques at low life while Headsman removes reflected damage and gives a damage boost against enemies with no adds nearby.
Mapping works through melee splash and additional strike targets that let Boneshatter hit packs instead of single enemies. Bossing damage gets ridiculous once Trauma stacks ramp up because each stack is more added physical damage on top of whatever your weapon and gear already provide. The build also stuns most bosses at higher investment which effectively locks them out of using their dangerous mechanics.
Putting it together properly is the hard part. Physical mitigation needs to be high enough to ignore self-damage, life pool needs to be large enough to absorb hits while overleech catches up, and your weapon needs to actually deal enough base damage to make the Trauma scaling worth it.
